Contraception Position Statement
All Canadians have the right to a comprehensive range of contraceptives together with accurate, non-judgmental, and respectful information and counselling. All methods of contraception, including emergency contraception, should be readily available to Canadians.
CFSH recommends the use of male or female latex or polyurethane condoms in combination with all other contraception methods for dual protection from pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
CFSH further recommends that all contraception information be provided in the context of a comprehensive sexual and reproductive health and rights framework.
For more information about CFSH’s position on sexual and reproductive health and rights please see our position statement on sexual and reproductive health and rights at www.cfsh.ca.
