Helen and Fred Bentley Award for Excellence in Achievement

français»

The Helen & Fred Bentley Awards for Excellence of Achievement are meant to recognize and publicize the outstanding achievement and program excellence of members of the Canadian Federation of Sexual Health. The award is offered yearly to CFSH Members who have shown outstanding achievement in the field of sexual and reproductive health. There are two prizes annually – a first and second place award. The Awards are supported by a fund established by Dr. Fred Bentley at the Edmonton Community Foundation. Dr. Fred Bentley, a soil scientist, originally established the award in 1997 to celebrate excellence of achievement and innovation among the then Planned Parenthood organizations. In 2009 we are launching, for the first time ever, a logo for the Awards. The Bentley Awards logo depicts his parallel interests and commitments, the overlap of ‘seeds’ in the world of family planning, and agriculture. Seeds and sprouts also represent newness, innovation and opportunity for growth.
