Scholarships & Awards

CFSH offers a number of awards and scholarships. These awards and scholarships reward excellence in programs, dedication of volunteers and assist students in their studies in sexual and reproductive health.

Find out about the scholarships including applications procedures, current and past winners:

Phyllis Harris Scholarship for Undergraduate Students: an annual award of $2,600, for full-time students in 3rd or 4th year at a Canadian University.

John and Lois Lamont Scholarship for Graduate Students: an annual award of $2,600 for graduate students who intend to pursue a higher degree in the field of sexual and reproductive health. 

Dr. Henry Morgentaler Future Choice Scholarship for 2nd, 3rd or 4th year medical school students who have clearly demonstrated a commitment to ensuring women in Canada have the right to choose and access safe, legal abortion care. 

Helen and Fred Bentley Award for Excellence in Achievement is offered yearly to a CFSH Member Association, which has shown outstanding achievement in the field of sexual and reproductive health. 

Janssen-Ortho Inc. Volunteer of the Year is awarded to a volunteer from CFSH members as a reward for their outstanding efforts and contribution to the sexual and reproductive health in their community.

The Norman Barwin Graduate Scholarship concluded in the 2003/2004 academic year.
